To help make finding fun things to do around the holiday season easier, we put together a list of local family friendly events for you to enjoy!
On Saturday, December 4th, The Kiwanis Club of Rockwall will be hosting the 52nd annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade, “Christmas Past & Present”. The parade starts at 9 AM near Utley Middle School and will end at 10 AM at Dobbs Elementary School. In the parade, there will be many floats and marchers to help kick off the holiday season in a fun way.
A fun way to spend your Saturday night is the 38th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Located behind City Hall from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 4th, the Christmas Tree Lighting is the perfect way to enjoy the beginning of the holiday season. There will be music, cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and even Santa Claus himself will be there!
On Friday, December 3rd, The City of Heath will be hosting it’s annual Christmas in Heath from 5:30 – 8:30 PM. There will be a trolly shuttle to take guests from Tom Thumb to Towne Center Park from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. At 6:00 PM, the Christmas Tree Lighting will take place featuring the RHHS Jazz Band. From 5:30 – 8:30 PM, there will be food trucks, choir performances, activity booths, train rides, food, drinks, photos with Santa, live reindeer and a Heath Holiday Shoppe for you and your family to enjoy.
On Saturday, December 11th from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Royse City will have their annual Christmas Parade. The theme this year is “Christmas in Toyland”, the parade will start at Ruth Cherry Intermediate School at 6:15 PM and end in Downtown Royse City around 6:30 PM. Businesses downtown will be offering specials throughout the day, and it will be a great way to enjoy your evening.
Friday, December 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, the annual Fate Christmas tree Lighting will take place. There will be food, drinks, and many activities, including, reindeer games, the polar express, pictures with Santa and story time with Mrs. Claus for you and your family to participate in.
On December 4th, from 12:00 – 8:00 PM, Kaufman will have its community celebration, “Christmas On The Square.” There will be a parade, a parade float contest, shopping, vendors, food trucks and activities for you to celebrate the holiday season.
Encounter Church will be hosting Christmas Movie Nights on December 3rd, 10th and 17th. They will be showing family friendly movies including, The Santa Clause, Home Alone, and The Elf. There will be popcorn and drinks provided and it will make for a fun night to enjoy with your family this holiday season.
Enjoy a beautiful parade on the water with many boats decorated with holiday cheer. Cruises will be available with limited seating for passenger comfort. Dress warm and comfy, food and drinks will not be provided, however, picnics and drinks are welcome aboard on the cruises. This will make for a joyful and calming night to enjoy with family, friends or a significant other.
